Mediums

Howdy,

This is Jason, the other 50% of Appropriate Misconceptions. George and I had a lot of fun writing our skeleton script during the past year and a bit, and this new avenue of exploration into the characters and plot is sure to add another level of depth to the story as we learn new ways to interpret and structure it. It lets us (well, George) draw stuff, obviously, which lets us physically see what's happening in the story instead of just imagining it; the opportunity for us both to go over this visual element and collaborate on its style and presentation is also essential for the creative process, so this is an exciting and important stage in our work. It's also interesting to approach the story from a different angle and work within a different set of limitations; it's a great creative exercise, and if any of you are involved in some form of storytelling, be it through drama, writing, drawing, song or anything else, I definitely recommend experimenting with mediums to test your creative range and capabilities - you might surprise yourself.

We still plan to turn this story into a play, and as with any creative work feedback is essential, so like George said, please feel welcome to leave us your thoughts; they are much appreciated.

Jase

  1. The plural of medium in this sense is media, not mediums. Mediums would refer to, say, a group of people who can talk to ghosts...
